WEEKEND STUDIOS - GUEST LECTURE

For part of this module, Weekend Studios came into University to present a lecture on video advertisements and promotional material for different brands, and music videos etc. They explained that the most important part of filming is having a well structured plan, because without a plan, the shots won't be as well executed. They expressed how story boards were extremely important, as they show what type of shot you are after, the angle and location can also be established. For the second part of this lecture / workshop, we were able to look at some of their work and analyse it whilst also gaining some inspiration for some shots and ideas that our group could use in our Northern Soul Film. This task allowed us as a group to establish the Brand, purpose, concept, narrative, technical skills, location, styling, MUAH, models and casting for a range of different videos. This increased my knowledge on how to go about planning for an audio visual production, knowing all the different sections that need to be planned for before the shoot is extremely useful to know when going into my own photoshoot and the initial shooting of the video.
